River Ladies... YOU ROCK!

I am so honored to be a part of the Women's Ministry! I had such a wonderful time tonight, I dont think things could've gone any better. We had 32 in attendace! SOOOOOOO much food, lol... Southern Baptist Women... LOL...

Thank you so much to all who attended, and a special thanks to Sara T for singing, Kerrie for her poems, and Autumn for her devotional.

I enjoyed so much just sitting back and watching all my sisters enjoying their time w/ fellow sisters, it was priceless and brought many smiles to my face. Thank you all. I love ya's!

Thanks so much to the ladies that stayed a little later and helped clean up~ much appreciated!

For the ladies that couldnt make it this year, we hope to see you at our 2nd annual Christmas bash in 2009! We missed you.

God is Good... Can I get an amen!?

A Way to Lighten the Load

“Moses’ father-in-law replied, ‘What you are doing is not good. You and these people who come to you will only wear yourselves out. The work is too heavy for you; you cannot handle it alone.’” Exodus 18:17-18

Admit it—as a society we’re overloaded and stressed out
most of the time. The pace and pressure of our day piles up and affects our physical, emotional, and mental health. It distorts our attitudes at work, home, and even in our ministries. Pushed to the limit, we become exhausted and, ultimately, ineffective.

But God doesn’t expect us to do everything alone. Even Moses was advised by Jethro, his father-in-law, to ask for help and delegate some of the work. Asking for help is not a sign of weakness—in fact, it shows character.

I don’t know what you’re wrestling with in your life, but I do know that right now, somewhere in your life, some people are just waiting for you to ask them to help you. God has them there for you. Maybe a friend can give you a break from care-giving responsibilities. Or a supervisor will assure that your work gets done as you go through chemotherapy. Or a credit counselor is waiting for you to call so she can help you get back to financial freedom.

Only you know what’s weighing you down. But Jesus stands ready to help you figure out how to lighten the load, and He has placed people in your life to assist you.
All you have to do is ask.

How to use ESV Study Bible

I have had a lot of people tell me how much they love their new ESV Study Bible.  I'm glad you are enjoying it!  However, I have also found that many of you are unaware of some of the many features, extras, and little "how to's" to get full usage out of this new & exciting tool.  I've had a lot of excited people asking some good questions, so...

For those of you who have purchased the ESV Study Bible or are considering getting one... would you be interested in having a sit down discussion and guiding time of how to use the ESV Study Bible & online tools?  Would this be of interest to you?

I'd like to see you all get the most out of this great new tool & the word of God.  If this would interest you, please let me know by commenting to this blog post or e-mail me.
